I’m a Central European at heart, shaped by the landscapes, traditions, and everyday rhythms of Slovakia, Austria, and Czechia. I value simplicity, meaningful work, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from creating something with my own hands.
My roots run deep in small-scale farming and rural life, where self-reliance was a way of being. Over time, I’ve rediscovered those skills—growing food, preserving harvests, and caring for the land—not as chores, but as a mindful, fulfilling part of life.
Slow living is my compass. It means savoring seasons instead of rushing through them, finding beauty in the ordinary, and choosing intentionality over constant urgency. This blog is where I share pieces of that journey: the garden, the projects, and the small victories along the way.
You won’t find staged family portraits here, but you will find honesty, a love of heritage, and the joy of learning by doing. I hope my words inspire you to slow down, reconnect with your roots—whatever and wherever they may be—and take pleasure in the process.
If you love simple, seasonal recipes rooted in Central European traditions, I’ve created a free mini e-book just for you: Dumplings of Central Europe.
